"Mustang Mountain Hoop Dance, Arizona" (c) Passover 2011 Stu Jenks
Taken with my new/old Brownie Starflash. I can shoot time-exposures with it due to a sticky shutter. I love this camera. Only Photoshop in this image is the color. The hoops are made with a string of battery-powered Christmas lights, spun in the tall grass. I open the shutter with just a touch of last dusk light in the sky, then spin the Xmas lights to make the hoops. Exposure time for this image is around five minutes, I'm guessing.
And Happy Passover to all my Jewish friends. As a little kid in Episcopal Sunday School, I thought the lamb's blood on the doors so the Angel of Death left the First-Borns alone was wicked cool. Now, I still like the story, even though it is a bit more 'Punishing God' than I prefer, but Exodus is a heck of a good tale nonetheless.
Break some matzo for me.
Love you, your photo work and your writing, Stu!
